The DES-1016D is an unmanaged 10/100Mbps switch designed to enhance workgroup performance whilst providing a high level of flexibility. 10Mbps or 100Mbps network support to multiply bandwidths, boost response time and satisfy heavy load demands.
The switch provides 16 x 10/100Mbps ports, all supporting the NWay standard. The ports negotiate between 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX network speeds, as well as between full and half duplex.
In full duplex mode, the switch's embedded flow control provides a means to protect users against possible data loss during transmission on the network. When connected to a LAN adapter (in a server PC) that supports flow control, the switch sends signals to the PC regarding buffer overrun during peak usage periods. The PC delays transmission until the switch is ready again to accept new data
